Introduction

The Announcement provides a public record to inform people of the death of your loved one. The Announcement can be accompanied by an Obituary. You, as the deceased person’s Next of Kin, will usually be responsible for drafting the Obituary. If your loved one was registered in Planning Ahead, they may have stored some content for the Obituary. If so, it will appear in the Obituary content box below.

A Memorial Book is also provided with the Announcement. This book gives friends and family the opportunity to post messages of condolence in which to express their sorrow as well as a way of sharing personal memories and remembering happier times.

Finally, if you want you can download a personal photo of your loved one to appear in the Announcement, Obituary and Memorial Book.

As the person making the Announcement in Lasting Post, you will be the Nominated Next of Kin. As such, you will be our point of contact regarding the Announcement.

As Nominated Next of Kin, you will also have the responsibility for ensuring that all messages in your loved one’s Memorial Book are appropriate. If you decide that any content is inappropriate, you should inform us at headoffice@lastingpost.com. We will ensure it is deleted forthwith.

We will also act in the event that any user of Lasting Post brings inappropriate content to our attention.

As the person making the Announcement in Lasting Post, you will be the Nominated Next of Kin. As such, you will be our point of contact regarding the Announcement. The reason we ask you to provide a password is to facilitate any communication you have with us. The password will also allow you, as Nominated Next of Kin, to amend the Announcement at a later date.
