Q:

How much does it cost to make an Announcement?

A:

Making an Announcement on Lasting Post is completely free.

Q:

What does an Announcement consist of?

A:

An Announcement consists of three things. First is the actual Announcement of Death. The purpose of this is to inform people of the death. This is similar to a notice that appears in a newspaper but can give much more information as there are no financial constraints. Second is the Obituary. The purpose of this is to provide an opportunity for a family to both reflect on and celebrate their loved one's life. Third is the Memorial Book. This gives friends and other people the opportunity to post their messages of sympathy and support.

Q:

Who is responsible for the content posted in a Memorial Book?

A:

The person who posted the Announcement is called the Nominated Next of Kin. As such they are responsible for ensuring that all the messages in their loved one's Memorial Book are appropriate. However, if for any reason you decide that any content is inappropriate you should inform us at Headoffice@lastingpost.com . We will ensure that it is deleted forthwith.
