Introduction

An Announcement giving notice of death can be posted on Lasting Post. This Announcement provides a public record to inform friends, family and other people of a person’s death.

If you decide to make an Announcement for your loved one, you, as Next of Kin, will be responsible for the drafting. We will provide you with help and advice.

Neither the person who has died nor you need to have registered in Lasting Post to use the Announcement service which is straightforward to use and is completely free.

Obituary

The Announcement can be accompanied by a personal Obituary which you will also be responsible for drafting. We will also give help and advice with the preparation of this.

Memorial Book

A Memorial Book is also provided with the Announcement. This book gives friends and family of the deceased person the opportunity to post messages of condolence in which they can express their sadness and their sympathy. It also allows people to share happy memories and personal stories.

These messages can give much support and comfort to a family coping with the loss of a loved one.
